On Day 2 of the 1st Test of The Ashes, Australia’s Usman Khawaja and Alex Carey played well in the final session, leading Australia to a score of 311/5 at stumps. They are still behind by 82 runs, and both teams have an equal chance of winning the match. Khawaja scored an unbeaten 126, his 15th Test century, and his first on English soil, while Carey scored 52*. In the opening session, England, led by Ben Stokes, dominated as Australia lost three wickets and reached 78 from their overnight score of 14/0. However, in the second session, Australia fought back, scoring 110 runs for the loss of one wicket. England had declared their innings at 398/8 on Day 1.
