India and Australia are set to play the World Test Championship (WTC) final today, and India will be hoping to win the title after losing to New Zealand in the final of the inaugural edition of the championship. The match will be played over five days, from June 7th to the 11th, with a backup day available in case of adverse weather conditions. The prestigious encounter will feature the famous Dukes’ ball, which is the preferred choice for Test and elite cricket played in England.
Both India and Australia will be missing some key players for the WTC final. India will be without pacer Jasprit Bumrah, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul due to injuries. Meanwhile, Australia’s star player Josh Hazlewood will also miss the final test due to a problem with his left Achilles and a strain in his left-side arm.
Many cricket pundits and former cricketers have given Australia the edge in the match due to the swinging conditions at The Oval in London.
