Tournament Format

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is hosted by the Bangladesh Cricket Board, due to political instability in the country, Matches of the Women’s WC 2024 will be played Dubai and Sharjah. Similar format like the last WWC, Teams are divided into two groups A & B for Group stage games, knockouts, and a final match where the top two teams face off to become champions.

Group Stages and Knockouts

For group-stage games, teams are divided into two groups – Group A and Group B. There are few points that are considered for the tournament –

  • Each team will play against the other teams in their group. 
  • The teams that perform and reaches the top two of the points table will move on to the knockout stage to play against other group toppers. 
  • The knockout stage includes semi-finals and the final.

Points and Qualification

In the group stage, teams earn points by winning matches.

  • Winning a games gives 2 points. 
  • If a match ends in a tie or gets abandoned due to rain, each team receives 1 point. 
  • Based on points and NRR, The top teams from each group will advance to the semis.
